A platform for graduate students and
early career professionals in volcanology.
In recognizing the need for greater involvement by researchers early in their careers, the
CONVERSE Emerging Researchers Group provides opportunities for collaboration across
sub-disciplines of volcano science and between institutions by fostering working relationships
between emerging researchers and more senior scientists in their field.

Two annual webinar series provide a platform for graduate students and early career
scientists to showcase their research.
Social Events
Networking opportunities at CONVERSE ER-hosted events in scientific meetings such as AGU,
Cities on Volcanoes, and IAVCEI.
Bi-Weekly Meetings
Become involved in initiatives by the CONVERSE Center and CONVERSE ER through our Zoom
meetings.

Participate in the CONVERSE Scenario Building Institute by modeling development and response
to volcanic emergencies.
